I teach argentine tango.
I am a social dancer first and foremost, I teach from that perspective alone. I teach my students to dance socially, how to enjoy each other socially on social dance floor. I teach the foundation of the dance, and how to create a VERY pleasurable experience for lead and for follower.
If you’re looking for stage/show/fantasy/or strictly milonguero (including Villa Urquiza), I’m not your guy, however I can recommend others that teach those styles.
I am fluent in both Nuevo and Salon or Milonguero styles.
I teach from the following precepts: There is a lead/follow dynamic, and that it is really all about her, anything else and you’re wasting your time.
I teach that comfort, clarity, lightness, softness, and ease are the basis from which you should dance and can dance. If its forced, or you have to use resistance, pressure, and/or tension to accomplish any goal then you’re going to send your chiropractor’s kids to any ivy league school of their choice, really!
I teach that a good, clean foundation is the basis to build your house on, which is to say that you must learn how to walk really well, before you do anything else.
Lastly, I teach from a very simple philosophy: There’s always more to learn. I’m not the sole of all wisdom and I don’t know everything, however I’ve picked up a few things (ok lots) along the way that you are probably NOT aware of, yet, that can and will help you along the way to achieving your goal of learning to dance argentine tango.
